Genuine New Zealand wool makes a big difference in the texture. It has a natural bounce that hasn't flattened out yet.

My toddler plays on this rug all day. The cut-pile surface is soft enough that I don't worry about her skin getting irritated.

Very dense material which is great for durability. The only small issue is it sheds a bit in the first week, but it stopped after a few vacuums.
