Information we collect
Automatically collected information

Toastd Sync, our Shopify app for brands
Brands that sell on Toastd can install our Shopify app, Toastd Sync, on their Shopify store. This section explains what the app accesses, why, and what happens to that data. It applies to the brand and to shoppers whose Toastd orders are sent to the brand's store.
What the app reads from the brand's store
- Products, variants, prices and stock, to match the brand's products to its Toastd listings and keep prices and availability on Toastd up to date.
- The status of the orders the app itself created: fulfilment, tracking, delivery, cancellation, refunds and returns, so Toastd can keep the shopper informed.
- The app does not read the brand's other orders or its customer list. Notifications Shopify sends us about orders contain order ids only.
What the app writes to the brand's store
- For each paid Toastd order containing the brand's products, an order with those items and the shopper's name, email address, phone number and shipping address, so the brand can pack and ship it. The shopper gave these details to Toastd when buying on toastd.in.
- These orders are marked as paid and tagged Toastd. The brand's store does not send the shopper any email about them.
What we store
- The store's address, an encrypted access key, and the links between the brand's products and Toastd listings.
- A record of each order sent to the store, with its shipping, tracking and delivery status.
Retention and deletion
- When a brand uninstalls the app, it immediately stops accessing the store. The store's data held by the app is deleted when Shopify asks us to, 48 hours after uninstall.
- When Shopify passes on a shopper's request to erase their data, we erase the tracking details of that shopper's orders sent to the store.
- When Shopify passes on a shopper's request for their data, we answer the store within 30 days.
- Toastd keeps its own record of the shopper's order on toastd.in for as long as described in the rest of this policy and as the law requires (for example, for tax).
Sharing and security
- A shopper's details are shared only with the brand whose products they bought, and only to fulfil that order. We do not sell this data.
- The app runs on Google Cloud. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, store access keys are additionally encrypted, and only authorised Toastd staff can access it.
