Toastd note

Why you'll love it.

The deep, oxidised blue of natural indigo has a character that synthetic dyes cannot replicate. This bandana works beautifully as a subtle accent tied to a tote bag or worn simply around the neck. The slight variations in the shibori pattern are a quiet reminder of the slow, hands-on process used to create it.

Deep blue pigment and the shibori folding is very detailed. The organic cotton feels soft and breathable for daily wear.

i knew it used indigo leaf but the color transfers onto light fabrics easily. It is quite messy for such a small bandana.

Handmade quality is obvious and the 55cm square is a good size for a neck tie. Just wish the stitched corner label was softer.

Patterns on the cloth I received are barely visible. Mine is mostly just solid oxidised blue without the distinct shibori folding shown..

Product details

Description

Key Features:

  • Material: Soft organic cotton base
  • Dye Method: Natural indigo vat fermented from leaf pigment
  • Technique: Hand-folded and bound shibori resist patterns
  • Finish: Neat rolled edges with a corner label
  • Character: Unique tonal variations in every piece

The patterns on this cloth are created through resistance, where tight binding prevents the dye from reaching the fabric, resulting in crisp white bursts against deep blue.

As a hand-dyed item, the indigo develops its colour upon exposure to air, ensuring that no two pieces share the exact same depth of tone or pattern arrangement.

Specification
• Material: Organic cotton • Dye: Natural indigo leaf pigment • Dimensions: 55cm x 55cm • Construction: Rolled edges • Detail: Stitched corner label
Usages & Care
Wear as a headscarf, neck tie, or pocket square. Hand wash separately in cold water as natural indigo may bleed slightly during the first few washes. Air dry in the shade to preserve the depth of the blue.
